Elizabeth McClaren was born Aruba In the early sixties her family returned to United States.  Elizabeth enjoyed drawing sea and landscapes at a young age.  In the late eighties, Elizabeth took her artwork from canvas to computers. She began electronically creating and designing for local merchants and corporate businesses.  Upon retiring Elizabeth began to write her memoirs, And, that is how Lizzy’s semi-autobiographical series of children’s Illustrations and books evolved.

I was inspired to write and illustrate, ” Growing Up on an Island and the Tale of My Red Beach Ball,” with the thought at some time in the future I would tell this story to my grandchildren.  I wanted to show the courage and bravery their grandmother displayed by retrieving the red beach ball for their mom.  This picture book is a heartfelt thank you to my mom and to mom’s alike for a lifetime of love and care.
